Privacy Policy
Flavius Rule: the digital arena and the Online arena
Effective 3 October 2026
Flavius Rule is a board game by Virgilante, produced by Mifune Media. This policy covers the digital version at flaviusrule.com/play/ and its Online arena, and explains what information is collected and why. We keep it to the minimum the game needs.
Playing offline
Play Now, Manager mode, the Creator Studio and Hot seat run entirely in your browser. Your saves, settings and creations are kept in your browser's own storage on your device. We do not receive them unless you sign in to the Online arena. We use no advertising, no analytics and no tracking cookies.
Signing in with Google (Online arena)
When you choose Sign in with Google, Google shares the following with us through Amazon Cognito, our sign-in service:
- your Google account identifier (a number that tells accounts apart)
- your name
- your email address
We ask only for the basic openid, email and profile permissions. We cannot see your password, contacts, files or anything else in your Google account.
What the Online arena keeps
- Your account: the account identifier, the name shown to other players (taken from your Google name), and your fair-play record.
- Your gladiators: name, class, ratings, coin, gear, bouts, rank and fate.
- Matches: lobbies, the moves played, results, wagers and tickets, kept so matches can be played and settled.
- Connection records: a temporary ID for your live connection, used to send you the other players' moves.
What other players see
Your player name, your gladiators and their records, the games you host or join, and your moves in a match. A gladiator who falls in a way the arena chooses to remember can appear in the public Hall of the Fallen and in the arena's news. Your email address is never shown to other players.
How we use it
Only to run the game: to sign you in, keep your gladiators and wallet, match you with other players, settle results fairly and prevent cheating. We do not sell, rent or share your information for advertising, and we do not send marketing email.
Where it is stored
The Online arena runs on Amazon Web Services in the United States (us-east-1): Amazon Cognito for sign-in and Amazon DynamoDB for game data. The site is served through Amazon S3 and CloudFront. Its pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address as part of any web request.
How long we keep it
- Lobbies and match moves: deleted automatically after about 2 days.
- Connection records: deleted automatically after about 1 day.
- Server logs: deleted after 7 days.
- Your account and gladiators: kept until you ask us to delete them.
In your browser
The game uses your browser's local storage for your saves, settings and sign-in session (so you stay signed in). Signing out of the Online arena removes the sign-in session. You can clear the rest at any time in your browser settings.
Your choices
To see, correct or delete your Online arena account and everything tied to it, email FlaviusRule@gmail.com from the address you sign in with. We will act on your request within 30 days. You can also remove Flavius Rule's access to your Google account at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Google user data
Flavius Rule's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Children
The Online arena is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has signed in, contact us and we will delete the account.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and its effective date. Significant changes will also be noted in the game.
